Howard Joseph Luke, 76, a native of New Orleans, La., and a resident of Bourg, La., died Monday, Dec. 28, 2015.

Mr. Luke was a member of the “Easy Does It Club” for more than 30 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran and worked at Mobil Oil as a pumper until his retirement. He was an excellent cook and an avid gardener. People from all over sought Mr. Luke out for his hogshead cheese. He was a parishioner of St. Ann Catholic Church.


Mr. Luke is survived by his wife, Bobbie Thibodeaux; daughter, Caffie Pellegrin; sister, Ruth Deroche; brothers, Roland (Marie) and Rudy (Rebelee) Luke; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory to the Bayou Blue Senior Citizens Center or Terrebonne Parish Council on Aging are appreciated.

Burial is at St. Elie Cemetery.
