Huey Joseph Chiasson, 81, a native of Thibodaux, La., and a resident of Choupic, La., died at 9:52 a.m. Saturday, August 9.
He is survived by three sons, Gary Chiasson and wife Barbara, Ronald Chiasson and wife Beverly, and Samuel Chiasson and wife Mary; four daughters, Mary Lois Bergeron and husband Jimmy, Beverly Marie Arceneaux and husband Junius, Betty Duet and husband Roland, and Elizabeth Hebert and husband James; three sisters, Elise Morvant, Rita Thibodeaux and Shirley Richard Boudreaux; 17 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Versie C. Chiasson; his parents, Alcee Chiasson and Laura C. Chiasson; one daughter, Rita Ann Chiasson; two brothers; and four sisters.
He was a U.S. military veteran and loved fishing.
Visitation will be 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 12, at Thibodaux Funeral Home with services to follow. He will be buried at St. John Cemetery.
Thibodaux Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
