Iona Marie Breaux Guidry, 80, a native of Bayou Black, La., and a resident of Houma, La., died Saturday, January 17, at 12:16 a.m.
She is survived by her daughters, Sheila Foret and husband Dale, Susan Boudreaux and husband Ray, Melanie Boudreaux and husband Randy and Melinda Guidry all of Houma; sisters, Jane Hebert and husband Albert of Houma, and Rosemary Walker of Algiers, La.; grandchildren, Jamie Boudreaux and wife Jaime, Kenny Boudreaux and fiance Annette Kimball, Patrick Foret, Hollie Boudreaux and Kevan Boudreaux; great-grandchildren, Andrew Boudreaux and Madison Boudreaux; stepdaughter, Phyllis Toups and husband Ron of Houma; a special person in her life, Mrs. Eva Hebert of Houma; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her spouse, John Lindberg Guidry; parents, Louis Willie Breaux Sr. and Lottie Dumesnil Guidry; brother, Louis Willie Breaux Jr.; and sisters, Leola Hebert, Ester Breaux and Rosemay Breaux.
She was a very caring and giving person who touched a special place in the hearts of everyone she would meet. She was Catholic and a parishioner of St. Anthony Catholic Church
Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, January 20, at Chauvin Funeral Home and 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. Wednesday, January 21, at St. Anthony Catholic Church with mass to follow. Burial will be at St. Anthony Cemetery.
Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
