Irene Dupre

Irene Theriot Dupre, 94, a native of Theriot, La., and resident of Houma, La., died at 5 a.m. Friday, July 2, 2010.

Mrs. Dupre was a wonderful and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, needlework, working in her flowerbed and fishing at the camp.

She is survived by her sons, Camile Jr. (Betty) and Jerry (Charlene) Dupre; daughters, Joan (Charles) Blake, Carolyn (Jeff) Teuton, Linda (Wayne) Garibaldi and Sandra (Morris) Hebert; sisters; Marie Theriot and Rita Theriot Bergeron; 22 grandchildren, Gwen (Greg) Eaton, David (Angie) Dupre, Diane (Mike) Fitzgerald, Darlene (Gilbert) Buquet, Daniel (Eldine) Dupre, Rhonda (Bill) Reilly, Julie (Darren LeBlanc) Hebert, Christie (Chad) Simon, Terez (Daniel) LeBlanc, Dom (Michelle) Dupre, Bridgette (Jason) Domangue, Frank (Stacie) Teuton, Margaret (Keil) Moss; Carol Tueton Brunet, Joseph (Courtney Cantrelle) Teuton, Dawn (Randy) Bernard, Barry Garibaldi, Alex Garibaldi, Brian (Kate) Hebert, John (Kellie) Hebert, Amie (Ed) Bice and Andrea (Phil) Olivier; 45 great-grandchildren; eight great-great grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; one step-great-grandson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Camile Dupre Sr.; infant son; Joseph; one granddaughter, Connie Dupre Mire; parents; Lexington and Alida Champagne Theriot; one brother, Isaac Theriot; two sisters, Corrine Naquin and Rose Champagne.

She is buried at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2.

The family would also like to recognize her dedicated caregivers, Melissa Eklund, Marie Boudreaux, Nicole Sanderford, the Council on Aging, The Medical Team and Hospice of South Louisiana and Dr. Russell Henry.
