Irvan Joseph Champagne, 88, a native of Theriot, La., and a resident of Houma, La., died Thursday, July 23.


He is survived by two sons, Gregory Champagne of Houma and Patrick Champagne and wife Ann of Houma; six daughters, Karen C. Davis of Houma, Joan Bush and husband Charles of Houma, Myra Martin and husband Michael of Raleigh, N.C., Christine Grems and husband Thomas of Bayou Blue, La., Rosalie LeJeuene of Lafayette, La., and Mary Lea Reynolds and husband Randall of Houma; two brothers, David Champagne of Houma and Hurtis Champagne of Sarasota, Fla.; 14 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.


He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosalie Marie Champagne; parents, Jean and Eleanor Champagne; one brother, Winston Champagne; and one granddaughter, Kate Champagne.

He was Catholic and a parishioner of St. Bernadette Soubirous Catholic Church.

Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday, July 26, at Chauvin Funeral Home and 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday, July 27, at St. Bernadette Catholic Church. Mass will be at 11a.m. Monday at the church with burial at St. Eloi Cemetery.

Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
