Irvin “Bootie Swing” Johnson, 70, a native of Gibson and resident of Houma, died Sunday, July 1, 2007.


He is survived by three sons, Greg Johnson, Robert Cox and Timothy Irvin Johnson; five daughters, Gwendolyn J. Johnson, Robin Ettinine, Dana Cox, Peggy Johnson and Melissa J. Henyard; and two sisters, Bernadine J. Stewart and Olivia J. Washington.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnny Johnson Sr. and Selina Ross Patrick Johnson; four brothers, Johnny Johnson, Sidney Patrick Sr., Belvin Johnson Sr. and Herbert Johnson; and three sisters, Beatrice P. Robertson, Betty J. Stevenson and Valina Johnson.

Irving was Baptist. He is buried at Oak Forest Cemetery in Gibson, La.

Gertrude Geddes Willis-Terrebonne Funeral Home of Houma is in charge of the arrangements.
