J.B. Kirkland, 98, a native of Longstreet and a resident of Thibodaux, La., died Sunday, January 11.
He is survived by three sons, Virgil, James and Jason Kirkland; two daughters, Frances K. McCullough and Helen K. Youngblood; one brother, John W. Kirkland; one sister, Sibyl K. Beck; 15 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian Tweedel Kirkland; his parents, William and Frances Dixon Kirkland; one son, Joseph Kirkland; one daughter, Amelia Kirkland; three brothers, William, Freddie and Byron Kirkland; and one infant sister.
Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Friday, January 16, at First Assembly of God Church in Thibodaux with the funeral services to follow. Burial will be at St. John the Evangelist Cemetery.
Landry’s Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
