Jack Schmidt, 90, a native of Los Angeles, Calif., and resident of Gibson, La., died at 9:15 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 17, 2010.
Mr. Schmidt was a WWII veteran who survived Pearl Harbor. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus.
He is survived by his wife, Opal Schmidt; sons, Dan (Amy) and Don (Penny) Schmidt; stepsons, Harris (Linda), Warren (Pam) and Robert (Cindy) Gouner and John Hardcastle; stepdaughter, Patricia (Frank) Gilbert and Carolyn (Lamont) Cooper; 23 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by Henery and Mattie Schmidt; son, Jerry Schmidt; and stepdaughter, Ann Heilman.
He is buried at St. Anthony Cemetery.
