Gov.’s wife joins effort to build Gray Habitat home

Jacques Lanauze Fortier, 91, a native of New Orleans, La., and a resident of Houma, La., died at 6:40 p.m. Sunday, May 9, 2010.


Mr. Fortier was a retired mortgage banker and real estate developer. He served as a U.S. Navy lieutenant commander in the Pacific Theater. A graduate of Tulane Engineering School, Mr. Fortier was a member and former treasurer of the George Washington Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution, a member of the Metairie chapter of the Rotary Club and past treasurer of the War of 1812 organization.


He is survived by his son, William (Deborah) Fortier; one grandson; and great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at a later date at St. Louis Cemetery No. 3 in New Orleans.
