Jade Alexis Wiggins, 11, a native of Morgan City, La., and resident of Bayou L’Ourse, La., died Monday, April 25, 2011.

Jade enjoyed life and was a very smart child. She was a straight A student at Labadieville Middle School. She won the Assumption Parish spelling B last year, was a member of the Beta Club, the Student Council and the Science Club and was a dancer with Dance World, participating in ballet, jazz and tap for the past 8 years. She recently passed her points test for earning her real ballet shoes. She enjoyed being a member of the church choir at Victory Baptist Church in Plaquemine.


She is survived by her parents, Jamie and Kelly Ray Wiggins; brother, Jamie Paul Wiggins Jr.; grandparents, Donald and Janell Ray and Tommy Sr. and Jerry Jean Wiggins; and many relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her great-aunt, Ida Richardson.

She is buried at Morgan City Cemetery. (Hargrave)
