November 15, 2010James R. Babin, 72, a native of Raceland, La., and resident of Thibodaux, La., died Monday, Nov. 8, 2010.
Mr. Babin was a retired postmaster of Thibodaux and a longtime charter member of the Lafourche Crossing 308 Fire Company.
He is survived by his wife, Gerdie Faucheux Babin; daughters, Cynthia Guidry, Michelle Benoit and Patricia Luke; sons-in-law, Chris Benoit and Tilman Luke Jr.; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brother, Louis Babin Sr.; and sisters, Mary Allemand, Ida Martin and Eve Pierce.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sidney and Laura Babin; and his in-laws, Antoine and Vivian Faucheux.
He is buried at St. Joseph Cemetery.
