Lenten Gumbo served for 20 years, still going strong
March 19, 2010James “Jimmy” Barrios, 83, a native of Lockport, La., and resident of Larose, La., died at 2 a.m. Friday, March 12, 2010.
Mr. Barrios was a U.S. veteran of World War II, and the owner of Intracoastal Marine Services.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Emma Pitre Barrios; son, Bradley Barrios; daughter, Bryska Beniot; brother, Henry Barrios; sister, Katie Crowe; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Camille and Anita Boudreaux Barrios; son, Billy Barrios; brothers, Manny, Mack, Louis and Harry Barrios; and sisters, Edna Barrios and Mildred Ferguson.
He is buried at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Cut Off.
Samart-Mothe Funeral Home of Cut Off is in charge of arrangements.
