James “Shorty” Candies Jr., 74, a native of Des Allemands, La., and resident of Amite, La., died at 11:40 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 29, 2011.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Candies; children, Timothy (Kim), Garret (Pam) and Darid (Shanon) Candies and Davlynn (Bob) Coriell; brother, Marshall Candies; eight grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one great-grandchild; parents, James Sr. and Doris Candies; and sister, Elnora Cornwell.
Interment was at Mennonite Cemetery in Des Allemands. (Falgout)
