James “Jim” Gray, a native of Long Beach, Calif., and resident of Lafayette, La., for 28 years, died Monday, Feb. 22, 2010.


He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Stewart Gray of Lafayette; sons, Phillip Matthew Gray of Houston and Samuel James Gray of Houma; parents, Jim and Beverly Gray of Lafayette; sisters, Pamela (Dean) Ortego of Houma, and Cynthia Gray Hayden of Dallas; six nieces and nephews, Stacey Milsted, Tina Landry, Demian Estevez, Dorian Estevez, Mandy Olsen and Becky Summersett; and one great-nephew, Kayden Landry.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Karen Elaine Gray Estevez; maternal grandparents, Joseph and Evelyn Woods of Houston; and paternal grandparents, Willie and B.Y. Gray of Houston.

Martin & Castile Funeral Home of Lafayette is in charge of arrangements.
