James Lucien Lovell Jr., 62, a native of Houma, La., and resident of Schriever, La., died at 9 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2011.


Mr. Lovell was a loving father and grandfather. He was past president of the Houma Lions Club and active in the eye foundation and helping the St. Louis Infant Center. He was an Offshore Communications Technician. He loved to paint and fish and loved to laugh and make jokes. He enjoyed meeting and talking with new people. He will be sadly missed by both family and friends.

He is survived by his spouse, Carolyn Rouen Lovell; daughters, Michelle Lovell, Melinda (Cheyenne) Falgout and Melissa Bascle; brothers, Clayton (Katherine) and Paul (Ann) Lovell; one granddaughter, Addison Falgout; and one step-grandson, Marcus Bascle.


He was preceded in death by his parents, James Sr. and Elizabeth Breaux Lovell.

He is buried at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 1.
