Many in water’s path uninsured for flooding

May 27, 2011James “Jim” Joseph Walker, 75, a native of Bourg, La., and resident of Houma, La., died at 2:50 a.m. Tuesday, May 24, 2011.
Mr. Walker retired from a long career in the oil field. He was a parishioner of St. Ann Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife, Janet Gaspard Walker; children, James (Stephanie) and David (Pam) Walker, Sandra (Gerard) Vedros and Stephanie (Jeffrey) Johnson; 10 grandchildren, Leigh, Jonathon, Alyson and Victoria Walker, Emily and Andrew Vedros, Jake and Molly Johnson, Lauren Matt and Brock May; two great-grandchildren, Ashley Matt and James Vedros Elliott; and sister, Patricia Reid.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Pearl Ellender Walker; brothers, Walter “Bill”, Kenneth “Ken” and Bernard “Ben” Walker; and sisters, Marge W. Chauvin and Elda “Pete” W. Hurley
He is buried at St. Ann Catholic Church Cemetery. (Chauvin)
