James Willard Carreker Sr., 88, a native of Cook Springs, Al. and resident of Houma, La., died Saturday, May 23, at 2:50 p.m.


He is survived by his two sons James Willard Carreker Jr. and wife, Karen and Herbert Carreker and wife, Suzette; two daughters, Bonnie Carreker Bollinger and husband, Wayne, and Tammy Carreker Juckett and husband, Mark; one sister-in-law, Donna Carreker; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Ava Martin Carreker; his parents, Dan E. Carreker and Laila Reeves Carreker; one son, Robert Carreker; one brother, Milton Carreker; and one sister.


He was a welder, a member of Mulberry Baptist Church and a World War II Army veteran.

Visitation will be 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 25, at Mulberry Baptist Church with religious services to follow. Burial will be at Terrebonne Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Mulberry Baptist Church.

Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
