Mr. Vedros was a veteran of WWII. He served faithfully in the U. S. Navy. After military service and marriage, he and his wife resided in Baton Rouge, La., where he attended LSU for a short time. A sweet-natured person, our dad is known by all for his calm demeanor and friendly personality. He loved people. The family tells stories where two strangers could walk into his home and he would have them related to each other and him or a family member within five minutes. Husband, Father, Dad, Daddy, Pops, Padre, Grandfather, Paw Jim, Great Grandfather, Brother, Uncle, Friend… You are well-loved by all who knew you.

He is survived by his wife, Janice Valerie Guidry; children, Cynthia (William Jr.) Wilson, Jamsel Jr. (Lydia), Blaine (Vickie), Kim (Marianne) and Duane (Susan) Vedros, and Jan (Charles) Clark; 16 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and many nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ellis and Laura Margaret Comeaux Vedros; and siblings, Percy Vedros, Doris Benard, Ione Bourgeois, Eula Lucia, and Anna Lee Martin, his twin.
