Janet “Chunie” R. Cortez, 56, a native of Lafourche Parish and resident of Thibodaux, La., died Monday, Feb. 18.
She is survived by one son, Lemcy Cortez III and wife, Dawn; one daughter, Rocksand Cortez; one brother, Ronnie Rogers; three sisters, Judy Ledet, Connie Madere and Barbara Darsey; and one grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lemcy Cortez Jr.; her parents, Irvin and Leona Rogers; and one brother, Irvin “Boo” Rogers.
Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 21, at Thibodaux Funeral Home. Religious service will be at 8 p.m.
Thibodaux Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
