Janet Claire Green Sampey, 72, a native of Berwick, La., died Thursday, June 6, 2013.
Mrs. Sampey earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Southwestern Louisiana. She was a committed wife and mother to her children. Her passion for music will live on through the hundreds of students she taught during her 55 plus year career as a piano teacher.
She is survived by her husband, Larry Sampey; daughter, Anne (David) Doss; sons, Tony (Lauren) and David (Brandie) Sampey; sister, Donna Cloyd; and nine grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Mildred Green; and sister, Carol Thibodeaux.
Visitation will be 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday, June 9, at Twin City Funeral Home and 9 to 11 a.m. Monday, June 10, at St. Stephen Catholic Church with Mass of Christian Burial to follow. Entombment will be at Berwick Cemetery Mausoleum. (Twin City)
