Janet Ponson, 77, a native of St. Charles and resident of Raceland, died at 11:25 p.m. Sunday, March 27, 2007.

Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m until burial at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 29, at St. Mary’s Nativity Catholic Church.


She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Lloyd Ponson, 4 sons, Lloyd G. Ponson, Bruce Ponson, Don Ponson, Douglas Ponson, 2 daughters, Janet Bruce, and Mary Autin, 2 brothers, Leo Richard and Milton Richard, 18 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Norman and Janet Lagarde Richard, 2 brothers, George Richard and Howard Richard, and her grandson, Joshua Ponson.

She was a parishoner of St. Mary’s Nativity Catholic Church, and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and V.F.W. Auxiliary. Her hobbies included bowling, volleyball, and playing cards.

Samart-Mothe Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
