Janice Valerie Guidry Vedros, 87, a native of Montegut, La., and resident of John’s Creek, Ga., died Friday, Jan 13, 2012.


Mrs. Vedros attended LSU and received her R.N. certification at Charity Hospital in New Orleans, La., in 1945. Affectionately known as “Totsie” by family members, she excelled at baking, sewing, knitting, crocheting, quilting and embroidery. She served as a Eucharistic minister and was a member of the Ladies Altar Society for Holy Rosary Church.


She is survived by her children, Cynthia (William Jr.) Wilson, Jan (Charles) Clark and Jamsel Jr. (Lydia), Blaine (Vickie), Kim (Marianne) and Duane (Susan) Vedros; 16 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jamsel Vedros; parents, Julian and Edna Guidry; and siblings, Roland and Maxwell Guidry and Jeanette Bickford.

Burial was at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church Cemetery. (Chauvin)
