Jeanette J. Thompson, 82, a native of Schriever, La., and resident of Thibodaux, La., died Friday, Sept. 23, 2011.

Mrs. Thompson was a former food service employee for the Brothers of the Sacred Heart at E.D. White Catholic School. She was a member of Rebecca Chapter # 23 Order of Eastern Stars and stewardess at Calvary United Methodist Church.


She is survived by her children, Sheila Jones, Paulette Calloway, Connie (Stanley) Reed, Bruce, Kelsir, Floyd Jr. (Debra) and Steve (Tammy) Streams and Peter (Jane) Riley; stepchildren, Constance (Charles) Johnson, Johnny Jr. and Dr. Jill Thompson; sister, Audrey Coulon; brothers, Zane (Bessie) Brown Sr. and Edward Joseph; 30 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Thompson Sr.; daughter, Ronnie Edwards; parents, Annie Brown and Osben Jones Sr.; sisters, Annie Mae, Emma and Mable Jones; brothers, Osben Jr., Russell Sr. and Welton Jones, Lawrence Brown and Raymond Griffin; granddaughter, Jasmine Streams; and great-grandson, Mauri Jones.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct, 1 at Calvary United Methodist Church in Thibodaux with services to follow. Burial will be at the church cemetery. (Williams & Southall)
