Jeanne Dolese Arceneaux, 92, a life-long resident of Labadieville, La., died at 12:45 a.m. Friday, Aug. 26, 2011.

Mrs. Arceneaux graduated from Labadieville High School and Dominican College in New Orleans, La. and was a school teacher in Golden Meadow, La., until her marriage in 1939. She was a loving daughter and sister and a devoted wife and mother. She was a quiet servant in her church and community and was the church organist for over 60 years. She was an extraordinary lady who shunned attention and will be greatly missed by her family and many friends.


She is survived by her sons, Bob and Ken Arceneaux; daughters, Bitsy Thomas and Lynda Hodnett; sister, Claire Safford; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and her extensive family.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 61 years, Lynn Arceneaux; son, Lt. John Arceneaux, USAF; parents, Eugene and Corinne Dolese; brothers, Dr. Eugene D. Dolese Jr. DDS and Lt. Francis Dolese, US Army; and sisters, Lucille Gaudet and Mae Koenenn.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 29 at St. Philomena Catholic Church in Labadieville with Mass of Christian Burial to follow. Interment will be at the church mausoleum. (Landry’s)
