Jerome Banks Sr., 44, a native and resident of Thibodaux, La., died Tuesday, July 28.
He is survived by his devoted friend Carla Harvey of Thibodaux; one son, Jerome Banks Jr. of Thibodaux; one daughter, Latricia Young of Thibodaux; three sisters, Linda Joseph and husband Sidney Jr. of Schriever, La., Clementine M. Jones of Lawrenceville, Ga., and Martha Banks-Kirk and husband Victor of Baton Rouge, La.; two brothers, Murphy Banks Jr. and wife Betty of Morgan City, La., and Ellis Banks Sr. and wife Carol of Thibodaux; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Murphy Banks Sr. and Bessie Mae Banks; grandparents, Joseph and Martha Exnicioous, and Christopher and Izella Banks.
He was a member of First Emanuel Baptist Church. His hobbies included fishing and gardening.
Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, August 1, at St. Mark Baptist Church in Labadieville, La., with a religious service to follow. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
Kennedy Funeral Home in Raceland, La., is in charge of the arrangements.
