Lenten Gumbo served for 20 years, still going strong
March 19, 2010Jesse James Myles, 49, a native of Terrebonne Parish and resident of Gray, La., died Sunday, March 7, 2010.
Mr. Myles was a member of St. John Baptist Church. A 1979 graduate of H.L. Bourgeois High School, he attended Louisiana State University on an athletic scholarship. He was a former member of the NLF Denver Broncos. He was a receiving clerk for Home Depot.
He is survived by his wife, Dolly Richardson Myles; mother, Lubirda Myles; sons, Jaron and Kenjuan Richardson; daughters, Aneka Myles and Yolanda Coleman; sisters, Lisa Myles and Pamela (Charles) Johnson; and three grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his father, Eugene Myles; grandparents, Alex and Mathilda Myles, and Izeal and Julia VanBuren.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 12, and 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, March 13, at Community Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday.
He will be buried at Emmanuel Baptist Church Cemetery.
