Jessie N. Chauvin, 80, a native and resident of Raceland, LA., died at 6:35 a.m. Tuesday, March 20, 2007.


Funeral services were held Wednesday at St. Hilary of Poitiers Catholic Church, with burial in Holy Savior Catholic Cemetery in Lockport.


He is survived by his wife, Betty Perry Chauvin; and three brothers, Milton, Norman and Shelby Chauvin.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ulsin and Philanese Champagne Chauvin; three brothers, U.J., Leroy and Joseph Chauvin; and four sisters, Jean Barrios, Carmen Waller, Rita Mae Chauvin and Clarise Williams.

He was a U.S. Army World War II veteran and was retired.

He was a parishioner of St. Hilary of Poitiers Catholic Church.

Samart-Mothe Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
