Joan Elizabeth Rhodes Perez, 64, a native of New Iberia, La., and resident of Patterson, La., died Sunday, June 5, 2011.
Mrs. Perez was a loving wife, mother, and devoted grandmother to her three granddaughters. She always had a beautiful smile on her face and was always willing to do what she could to help her friends and family. She graduated Cum Laude from the University of Southwest Louisiana with a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the College of Education.
She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Jake Perez; son, Jake (Ursala) Perez Jr.; sisters, Patricia (Pat) Delahoussaye and Mary (Mickey) Ortego; brother, James Rhodes; and three granddaughters.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Otis and Anna Rhodes; grandparents; and nephew, John Perez.
Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, June 10, at Twin City Funeral Home and 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 11, at St. Stephens Catholic Church in Berwick, La. (Twin City)
