Joan Duvernay Stricker, 76, a native of Galvez, La., and resident of Raceland, La., died Thursday, September 6, 2007, at 4:45 p.m.

She is survived by her two brothers, Marvin Duvernay and his wife Roberta and Alton Duvernay and his wife Lynne; two sisters, Edna Christopher and Jane Price and her husband Don; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Noel Francis and Alice Carmel Lund Duvernay; and three brothers, Noel, Hilton, and Leo Duvernay.

Visitation is Tuesday, September 11, 2007, from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., with the funeral to follow at Samart-Mothe Funeral Home in Raceland.

Samart-Mothe Funeral Home of Raceland is in charge of the arrangements.
