Lenten Gumbo served for 20 years, still going strong

John “JC” Charles LaCoste, 72, a native of Bayou Schafter, La., and a resident of Berwick, La., died on Sunday, March 7, 2010, at Teche Regional Medical Center.
Mr. LaCoste was a member of the Berwick Volunteer Fire Department for more than 25 years.
He is survived by his wife, Pat Sheehan LaCoste; daughters, Debra (Homer) Boudeaux and Rebecca (Graham) Cross; sons, John Jr. (Myrna) and Wayne (Jennie Epperson) LaCoste; brothers, Sterling (Mary Ann) and Kenneth (Linda) LaCoste); sister, Shirline (Charlie) Amadore; six grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Lillian LaCoste; sisters, Agnolia, Ara, Elda and Ella LaCoste; brothers, Delma, Clayton, Russell and Aubrey LaCoste.
He is buried at Morgan City Cemetery.
