John Melvin Corrales Sr., 83, a native of Robeline, La., and resident of Amelia, La., died Tuesday, Sept. 21, 2010.

Mr. Corrales served his country during World War II where he was awarded three service medals. He enjoyed playing cards, traveling or just spending quality time with the grandchildren and great grandchildren. John was an exceptional husband, father and grandfather and will be truly missed.


He is survived by his wife, Agnes Corrales; sons, John Jr. and Doyle (Dale) Corrales; daughters, RoseMary (John) Iskenderun, Violet Corrales and Gloria (Ray Jr.) Beadle; sisters, Mary (Norbet) Flores, Martha (Levy) LaCaze and Marie Solice; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Sept, 22, at Twin City Funeral Home. Visitation will resume Thursday, Sept. 23, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 24 at Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, La. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. in Natchitoches with burial at Memorial Lawn Cemetery.
