John Howard Sontheimer, 87, a native of St. Joseph, Mo., and resident of Schriever, La., died Wednesday, May 23, 2012.
Mr. Sontheimer was the owner and founder of SONOCO. He was a loving husband and dedicated father and grandfather. He touched many lives during his tenure here on Earth, and his legacy will be the lessons in selflessness he taught by how he lived his life and treated others.
He is survived by his wife, Diane Sontheimer; children, Dr. Richard (Liz), Kent (Marietta) and John Sontheimer and Nikki (Fred) Amberg; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Goley and Mary Sontheimer; brothers, Goley and Harold Sontheimer; and sisters, Anita Reinert, Bessie Habert and Dottie Herbold
Entombment was at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery #2. (Chauvin)
