Johnny P. Spinella, 73, a native and resident of Morgan City, La., died Thursday, Jan. 12, 2012.

Mr. Spinella was a U.S. Army veteran and police officer for the City of Morgan City retiring after 20 years on the force and was also the manager of the Berwick Civic Center for 11 years. He was a member of the St. Mary Golf and Country Club and St. Mary AARP. He was an avid LSU Tiger and New Orleans Saints fan who enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.


He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Karen Spinella; daughters, Janet (Paul) McVea, Faith Spinella and Cory Meranta; son, David (Dawn) Spinella; sister, Frances (Richard) Bullard; and seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Vincent and Louise Spinella; and brother, Vincent Spinella.

Visitation will be 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, Jan. 13, at Twin City Funeral Home and 8 to 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Mass of Christian Burial to follow. (Twin City)
