Jorge “George” Luis Rodriguez Sr., 53, a native of McAllen, Texas, and resident of Franklin, La., died at 1 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 25, 2012.
Mr. Rodriguez completed the Sheriff’s Office Basic Training and Field in Service Training Courses at LSU. He was a member of the Louisiana Peace Officers Association, Magnolia State Peace Officers Association, and Narcotic Officers Association. He was very active in many local civic and business affairs.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Maria Rodriguez; sons, Robert and David (Sabrina) Rodriguez; brother, Steve (Paula) Rodriguez; father, Julio Rodriguez; mother, Adelina Sarabia; half-brothers, Cipriano Alvarez, Julio Jr. and Andrew Rodriguez; half-sister, Eulalia Rodriguez; and two grandsons.
He was preceded in death by his son, George Rodriguez Jr.; and grandparents, Maria and Juan Garza and Martin and Manuela Rodriguez.
Burial was at Perpetual Park Cemetery in Franklin. (Ibert’s)
