Mandated therapy may better serve divorcing couples, counselor says

Joseph Casey Roy Cheramie, 83, a resident of Thibodaux, LA. and a native of Golden Meadow, LA., died Monday, January 2, 2007.


Visitation will be from 8 to 10:45 a.m. Thursday at Falgout Funeral Home in Galliano, LA. A mass will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Galliano. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Frances Griffin Cheramie; one son, Urtz Cheramie and wife, Pam; one daughter, Daisy Cheramie Guidroz and husband, Mike; one brother, Ralph Cheramie; one sister, Neza Callais; one grandchild, Emily Guidroz; 4 step-grandchildren, Bailey, Blake, Bryce Boudreaux, and Caren Falgout, and two step-great grandchildren, Miles and Maggie Falgout.


He is preceded in death by his parents, Aramise Cheramie, Sr. and Fredia Collins Cheramie; 4 brothers, Randolph, Aramise, Jr., Rudolph, and Jimmy Cheramie; one sister, Elsie Horton, and one grandchild, Ellie Guidroz.

He was a parishoner of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

He was a U.S. Army Veteran who served in the South Pacific.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Heart Association.

Falgout Funeral Home will be in charge of the arrangements.
