Joseph Costa, 80, a resident of Chackbay, La., died Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2011.

Mr. Costa was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a lifelong resident of New Orleans, La., until Hurricane Katrina when he relocated to Chackbay and grew to love the country.


He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Lena Costa; son, Joseph (Cindy) Costa; stepson, Glenn (Barbara) Fontenot; nephew, Anthony Carpenter; nieces, Anna, Josie and Rosemare Parella; and step-grandchildren, Patricia, Cynthia and Danielle Carpenter.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rose Nichodosi and Sam Costa; brothers, Benny and Johnny Costa; and sister, Beatrice Costa.

Visitation will 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 29, at Thibodaux Funeral Home with services to follow. Interment will be at Jefferson Memorial Gardens in St. Rose, La. (Landry’s)
