Joseph Frank Mickles, 63, a native of New Orleans, La., and resident of Golden Meadow, La., died Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2011.
Mr. Mickles grew up working with his grandfather and uncle at Joe Doucet & Son Trawl Boards in Golden Meadow. He retired from employment with the town of Golden Meadow and was currently serving on several boards and committees. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and the fellowship of his friends and prayer group.
He is survived by his brothers, Sheldon (Sharon) and Rustin (Becky) Mickles; sisters, Janis (Benny) Hernandez and Rosa Harris; and a host of aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his son, Brooke Mickles; parents, Anthony and Earline Mickles; and grandparents, Joseph and Rosa Doucet and Frank and Hilda Mickles.
Visitation will be 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 17, at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Golden Meadow with Mass of Christian Burial to follow. Interment will be at the church cemetery. (Falgout)
