Joseph Givens, Sr.

Joseph Givens, Sr., 53, a native of Terrebonne Parish and resident of Gibson, La., died Wednesday, August 29, 2007.

He is survived by his two sons, Joseph Givens, Jr. and Romalic Nash; three brothers, James Givens, Sr., David Givens and his wife Emmy, and Morris Givens and his wife Diane; and two sisters, Annie Chapman and her husband Linton and LaMonica Castle and her husband Derrick.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. & Mrs. James Givens; his stepmother, Margie Nash Givens; three brothers, Ernest, Matt, and Lawrence Givens, Sr.; three sisters, Albertha Givens, Jinnie Bea Givens and Lillie Mae Myles; and his grandparents, Steve and Ann Gibson and Matt and Jeanetta Hall Givens, Sr.

Visitation is Saturday, September 8, 2007, from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., with the funeral to follow at Beaulah Baptist Church in Gibson. He will be buried in Rosehill Cemetery.

Community Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
