Joseph Howard Sr., 84, a native of Terrebonne Parish, La., and resident of Houma, La., died Tuesday, April 5, 2011.
Mr. Howard was a parishioner of St. Lucy Catholic Church. He was retired from Cenac Towing and a U.S. Army Air Force veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Annie Bell Riley Howard; sons, Joseph Jr., James (Lorenda), Jerronne (Cheryl), Jason (Cheryl), Jerrol, Jonathon (Elizabeth), Junius (Linda) and Jermaine Howard; sister, Eula Howard; daughters, Beverley Castillo, Betty Riley, Barbara Howard, Brenda (Melvin) Porter, and Glenda and Mary Patterson; 20 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bond and Almean Amos Howard; son, John Howard; brothers, Ernest, George, Samuel, Bernard, Willie and Isacc Howard; sister, Emily Ruffin; and his grandparents, Joseph and Emily Amos.
He is buried at St. Luke Baptist Church Cemetery. (Community)
