Joseph P. Hue, 71, born in Belle Rose, La., raised in Thibodaux and a current resident of Baton Rouge, La., died at 5:23 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2010, at Ochsner Medical Center of Baton Rouge.

Mr. Hue was a member of South Baton Rouge Church of Christ and served in the prison ministry for 20 years. He retired in 2005 as an auditor with the State of Louisiana, Department of Elderly Affairs and also retired as an accountant with Rhone Poullenc Chemicals. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran.


He is survived by his wife, Charlotte Browning Hue; daughters, Selisa Hue, Pennie (Todd) Owens, Kathy Hue and Darlene Phillips; son, John (Karla) Phillips; sister, Lucy Royster; brothers, Wilton (Chunnie) and Curtis (Gail) Hue; brother-in-law, Richard Knight; and three grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations are preferred in Mr. Hue’s honor to the American Cancer Society.

He is buried at Greenoaks Memorial Park.
