Joseph “J.Clay” Clay LeBlanc Jr., 83, a native and lifelong resident of Napoleonville, La., died Wednesday, March 23, 2011.

Mr. LeBlanc was a retired educator for the Assumption Parish School System with 35 years of service. He was past president of the Assumption Parish Red Cross and past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus Post 1099.


He is survived by his sons, Joseph III “Joey” (Phyl) and Charles “Chucky” (Bambi) LeBlanc; daughters, Mary Elizabeth “Betsy” (Ed) Cancienne and Frances “Frannie” (Derland) Moore; 10 grandchildren, Summer B. LeBlanc, Patrick (Jeanne) Cancienne III, Mary Elizabeth “M.E.” (Tom) Bernhardt, Camille Cancienne, Michelle (Sean) Wells, Chip (Courtney) and Brad Moore, and Chase, Michael and Lauren LeBlanc; and six great-grandchildren, Patrick IV and John Clay Cancienne, Elizabeth and Joan Bernhardt, and Bailor and Derland Wells.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Elizabeth Barker LeBlanc; parents, Joseph Clay and Frances Gilbert LeBlanc; and one brother, Charles Joseph LeBlanc.

He is interred at St. Anne Catholic Church Cemetery. (Landry’s)
