Joseph “Tin” LeBouef, 72, a native of Terrebonne Parish, La. and resident of Chauvin, La., died at 2:40 p.m. Saturday, May 5, 2007.


Visitation will be from 5 to 10 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. to funeral time Wednesday at Montegut Fire Station. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with burial in Bisland Cemetery.


He is survived by three sons, Alton LeBouef and wife, Lillian, of Montegut, La., Ervin LeBouef of Chauvin and Eric LeBouef and wife, Cynthia, of Gray, La.; two daughters, Angela L. Brunet and husband, Steve Sr., of Bayou Blue, La. and Shirley L. Chauvin and husband, Warren, of Bayou Black, La.; two brothers, Horace and Irvin LeBouef of Montegut; three sisters, Velma L. Molinere, Della L. Naquin of Montegut and Sylvia L. Bertness, of Houma; 12 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Naquin LeBouef; his parents, Elie LeBouef and Emma Dupre LeBouef; two sons, LeRoy and Daniel LeBouef; four brothers, Lorice, Raymond, Alvin and LeRoy LeBouef; and three sisters, Gertrude L. Dupre, Cecile LeBouef and Lucina LeBouef.

He was a retired tug boat captain with Texaco Oil Co. for 35 years and a former reserve volunteer for Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office Water Patrol.

He was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
