Joseph Edward Lodrigue Sr., 78, a native of Houma, La., and resident of Dulac, La., died Thursday, Jan. 27, 2011.

Mr. Lodrigue was a parishioner of Holy Family Catholic Church.


He is survived by his son, Joseph “June” (Glenda) Lodrigue Jr.; daughters, Shirley (Ronald) Feet and Gail (Audra Dupre) Lodrigue; brother, Louis “Mac” (Brandy) Lodrigue; sister, Marie Irene Lodrigue; nine grandchildren, Tammy and Rhonda Feet, Shannon Boquet, Sherry Penalber, Mindy DeHart, Josie and Megan Lodrigue, Ashlee Willis and Lora Leigh Luquet; four stepgrandchildren, Kevin and Robert Jr. Choate, and Merlin Jr. and Paul Avet; 10 great-grandchildren, Derek Pinell, Hunter Davis, Roy Dean Jr., Austin and Lauren Boquet, Chase Falgout, Elizabeth and Trystan Penalber, Taylor Boquet and Kaleigh Arceneaux; and three step-great-grandchildren, Kaya Choate, Robert Williams and Christian Choate.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Eloi “Mexican” and Elizabeth Billiot Lodrigue; wife, Rose Verdin Lodrigue; four brothers, Junior, Ernest, Antoine and Joseph Lodrigue; three sisters, Marie Lodrigue, Josephine Billiot and Marie Chaisson; one grandchild, JoAnna Feet; and two great-grandchildren, Raven Pinell and Brenden Gaudet.

His greatest joy was his family. He loved gatherings with family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him. He will always remain in our hearts. May he forever rest in peace.

He is buried at Holy Family Catholic Church Cemetery.
