Joseph Anthony Matis Sr., 52, a native of Hahnville, La., and resident of Chauvin, La., died Friday, July 27, 2007.
He is survived by five sons, Joseph Jr., Brian, Ryan, Chris and Matthew Matis; three daughters, Kim Matis, Caty Martone and Victoria Matis; one brother, Vance Matis; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Anthony and Lena Matis; and one son, Michael Matis.
Joseph was a devout Catholic.
Visitation is Tuesday, August 7, 2007, from 8:30 a.m. until 10:00 a.m., with the funeral to follow at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Hahnville. He will be buried at Holy Rosary Cemetery in Taft, La.
