Joseph Michael Sylvan, 76, a native and resident of Houma, La., died Sunday, Sept. 18, 2011.
He is survived by his first wife, Delores Sylvan; second wife, Caro Sylvan; sons, Michael (Charline), Joseph (Yvette) and Michael (Katina) Sylvan and Sean (Kiley) Jackson; daughters, Denise Sylvan, Sharon Smith, Joann (Jody) Davis, Tyra (Ryan) Williams and Kashawn; sisters, Almetra Martin, Ora Wolfe and Gertrude Kennedy; 24 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Freddie and Mary Sylvan; brother, Freddie Sylvan Jr.; and sister, Bessie Sylvan.
Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 24 at St. Lucy Catholic Church with mass to follow. Burial will be at Southdown Cemetery. (Community)
