Joseph “Mr. Joe” Anderson, 89, a native of Plaquemine, La., and a resident of Belle Rose, La., died at Prevost Hospital in Donaldsonville, La., Friday, May 30.


He is survived by his wife, Emelda Anderson; sons, Adam Anderson, Stephen Anderson and wife, Lolita, of Donaldsonville, Michael Anderson of Baton Rouge, La., James Anderson and wife, Ethel, Robert Anderson and wife, Shanell, of Belle Rose, and Leonard Anderson and wife, Wanda, of Manhattan, Ks.; daughters, Ada Comeaux and husband, Darryl, Patricia Anderson of Belle Rose, Constance Thrift and husband, John, of Florida and Barbara and fiancee, Ralph Hamilton of Thibodaux, La.; brothers, Manuel Anderson of Plaquemine and David Simpson of Orlando, Fl.; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; and numerous relatives.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Manuel and Elizabeth Anderson; his stepfather, Victor Simpson; sons, Richard Sr. and Bernard Anderson; grandson, Richard Anderson Jr.; two brothers; four sisters; four sisters-in-law; and four brothers-in-law.

He was a retired employee of Savoie Industries.

He was buried at St. James United Methodist Church Cemetery in Belle Rose.

Williams and Southall Funeral Home of Napoleonville is in charge of the arrangements.
