Joseph “New New” Adkins, 77, a native of Terrebonne Parish and resident of Houma, La., died Monday, May 11.
He is survived by his wife, Hattie M. Dupree, sons, Larry Adkins, of Houma, La. and Joseph Adkins of Miami, Fl.; daughters, Rita Adkins of Gray, La. and Marilyn Stewart of Thorton, Co.; brothers, Gilbert Henry, Sr. and Coleman Henry, Sr.; 12 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by Rosedale William and Poleat Adkins Henry; daughter, Linda Emory; brothers, Cleveland Henry, Charles Henry, Jubie Henry and James Henry; and cousin, Charlene Rainey.
He was U. S. Army Veteran and a retired Clerk with a National Food Store. He enjoyed comedies and fishing.
Religious Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, May 15, at Community Funeral Home. Burial will be at Halfway Cemetery.
Community Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
