Joseph Wayne Poche’, 69, a native of Plaquemine, La., and resident of Plattenville, La., died at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2011.


Mr. Poche’ was retired from Dow Chemical Company in Grand Bayou. He was a constable in Assumption Parish for 25 years. He was a member of American Legion Post 88. He enjoyed cooking for his friends and family, fishing, watching football and spending time at the camp. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife, Judy Jumonville Poche’; sister, Catherine (Milton) Clement; brother, Norman (Elmire) Poche’; brother-in-law, George Jumonville Jr.; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Allen and Mary Fremin Poche’; sisters, Camellia “Tootie” Desell, Mary Louise Poche’ Bourgeois, Ida Mae Poche’ Dupont, Barbara Poche’ Foster; and two brothers, Allen Jr. and Paul A. Poche’.

The family would like to thank St. Joseph Hospice. Special thanks to his caretaker, Robin Falcon Tiegen.

He is buried at Assumption Catholic Church Cemetery. (Landry’s)
