Josephine “T” Diggs Garrett, 78, a Native and resident of Gibson, La., died Friday September 28, 2007.
She is survived by her seven sons, Elton Pharr, Jr., Perry Pharr, Ronnie Pharr, Arnold Pharr, Paul Pharr, Mark Pharr, and Allen Dwayne Pharr; four daughters, Maxine Pharr, Gloria Clay, Otis Shelvin, and Betty Pharr; 21 grandchildren; and 20 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Elton Pharr, Sr.; her second husband, Roosevelt Garret; her parents, Wilmer & Chestnola M. Diggs; one son, Charles Pharr; one brother, Wellington Diggs; and her grandparents, Josephine Hanzy Bogen and Landon Diggs.
Josephine was a devout Baptist and was a former choir member with St. James Baptist Church. She enjoyed baking.
Visitation is Saturday, October 6, 2007, from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., with the funeral to follow at St. James Baptist Church in Gibson. She will be buried in the church cemetery.
Community Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
