Josephine Odeal Wallace Wallis, 77, a native of Terrebonne and a resident of Houma, La., died Monday, March 24.


She is survived by her husband, Cleon Wallis of Houma; sons, Clarence Cannon Jr. of Gulfport, Ms., Ronald Wallis of Slidell, La., Garyland Wallis and Craig S. Wallis of Houma; daughters, Patricia Richards of Phoenix, Az., Mona L. Wallis and Ophelia W. Bolden of Houma and Jo Ann Wallis of Indianapolis, Mn.; step-daughter, Carolyn W. Ford of Los Angeles, Ca.; sisters, Beatrice W. Jenkins of Houma and Joana W. Baker of Chicago, Il.; 29 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.


She was preceded in death by her parents, Ezekial M. Wallace Sr. and Ophelia W. Wallace; son, Gregory Wallis; stepson, Cleon “C.J.” Wallis Jr.; brothers, Ezekial M. Wallace Jr., Hershal Wallace, James Wallace, Joseph Wallace and Anderson “Peter” Wallace; and sisters, Elizabeth W. Winslow and Geraldine W. Turner.

She was a homemaker and a member of New Mount Pilgrim Baptist Church.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, March 29, at Pleasant View Baptist Church with a religious service to follow. She will be buried at St. Luke Baptist Church Cemetery.

Gertrude Geddes Willis-Terrebonne Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
